Azimut Magellano 66

by Frank Stevenson17 May 2021 in Motoryachts, no comment

The Italian builder expects to debut its new Magellano 66 in spring, following up on the Collection’s flagship 25 Metri launched late last year.

Azimut is preparing to launch the new Magellano 66, further highlighting a Collection that has enjoyed increased profile since the arrival of the 25 Metri late last year and the announcement that the 30 Metri will debut in 2022. The lounge area and dining area of the 66 benefit from vast windows that create an airy, light-filled interior, while a sliding door separates the saloon from the pilot station. A decentralised stairway leads from the main deck to the lower deck, where there’s an owner’s suite and two guest cabins, plus a fourth room that can be fitted out with bunk beds or used as a storage area.

Outdoor areas include a large flybridge, with a stern lounge area that can incorporate a bar. In the aft cockpit, the dining zone can be transformed into a spacious relaxation zone where guests can stretch out in the shade, just above the water.

The EC category class A motor yacht has a pair of 850hp MAN engines and a second-generation Dual Mode hull that offers smooth cruising and outstanding stability, whether in displacement mode or at higher speeds up to 23 knots.

Meanwhile, Azimut has launched the virtual A-Room for owners and prospects to view previews of its new models. The new Azimut 53 Flybridge is the first model to feature in the 3D digital theatre.

Visitors to the A-Room connect to a virtual space designed to look like an indoor Azimut stand and can move around freely to interact with the content, which includes 3D tours and videos. The virtual showroom is split into themed areas including a theatre for presentations, corners dedicated to individual Collections and megascreens with videos of the latest models.

As well as showcasing the brand’s latest models, the A-Room eatures Azimut news and novelties. Users will be offered live streamed events organised for yacht launches, previews of innovative content, and other initiatives designed to engage with customers and fans.

“The A-Room is driven by the desire to further open to digital technology, recognising it as a system that can engage powerfully with owners, customers and yachting enthusiasts, also on an emotional level,” Azimut stated. “It’s an additional communication opportunity alongside the traditional channels.”

The new channel follows Azimut’s Virtual Lounge, a platform that debuted early last year and provides a range of content including videos, technical data sheets and analysis. It was also used to host a three-day e-boat show in May 2020, resulting in the purchase of an Azimut S6, the shipyard’s first online sale.

Azimut is represented in Hong Kong, Macau, southern China, Taiwan and Singapore by Marine Italia.
