Custom Line launched the 140′ planing yacht at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard ahead of the model’s world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
Custom Line launched its first 140 at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona, marking the arrival of the brand’s largest model to date. The 140 is the third Custom Line yacht with exterior styling by Francesco Paszkowski Design and interiors by Margherita Casprini, and was developed with Ferretti Group’s Product Strategy Committee and Engineering Department.
The 140ft tri-deck planing yacht with a 28ft beam is fitted with twin 2,638hp MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines and is expected to have a top speed of 21.5 knots and a cruising speed of 18 knots. The first hull is set to undergo testing and final fitting ahead of its appearance at autumn boat shows in Europe including a likely world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival from September 6-11.
Compared to Custom Line’s Navetta 42 displacement yacht, which is four tonnes heavier, the 140′ is longer (42.6m) and wider (8.4m), and has a volume close to 400GT. The Navetta 42’s volume is closer to 300GT.
Features include floor-to-ceiling glazing on the main and upper decks, a painted aluminium handrail with Y-shaped uprights on the main deck, large hull windows and many new features inspired by residential architecture. The yacht’s standard layout includes five guest cabins and three crew cabins.
Custom Line has had another busy year and started with five launches in the first four months. New launches included another Navetta 33 and the seventh hull of the popular Navetta 30, a model that has secured at least five sales in Asia and features an exterior by Filippo Salvetti and interior by the Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel studio.
The builder’s current portfolio includes the Custom Line 106, 120 and 140 planing yachts and the Navetta 30, 33, 37 and 42 displacement models.
