Riva 102 Corsaro Super

by Frank Stevenson28 September 2022 in Motoryachts, no comment

Celebrating its 180th anniversary this year, the famed Italian builder marked the occasion with the launch of the 102′ Corsaro Super in La Spezia.

Riva staged a spectacular launching ceremony for the first hull of the 102° Corsaro Super in La Spezia, where the brand’s models from 76-130ft are built. The yacht is the successor to the 100 Corsaro, which had its world premiere in Hong Kong in April 2017. More than five years later, the Super version will have her world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival from September 6-11 and showcase redesigned exteriors and interiors plus an enlarged beach club.

Featuring an overall length over 30m and a beam of almost 7m, the redesign has been spearheaded by Officina Italiana Design co-founders Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta in collaboration with Ferretti Group’s Strategie Product Committee led by Piero Ferrari and its Engineering Department.

The superstructure and the hull have been completely renewed, while new glass fashion plates aft improve aerodynamics.

Growing demand from owners led to a complete redesign of the stern area, which has been configured as an extended 35sqm beach club and is part of almost 100sqm of liveable open-air spaces. Design options include special gunwales that swing out on either side of the main deck to create exclusive terraces.

The yacht features over 140sqm of glazing and glass surfaces. The glazing in the owner’s suite has been redesigned and extended to 2m in length, amplifying the sense of space in the widebody configuration and offering views on both sides of the yacht. There are a further four guest cabins.

The interior innovations include a choice of two saloon layouts. One focused on the dining space has a table for eight aft, while the lounge has views through extensive windows that open onto the lateral walkways. The second layout features the lounge aft and dining space central.

The dominant wood inside is Canaletto walnut, with its warm tones set off by satin-effect titanium ceilings or glass surfaces and cool colours.

The 102° Corsaro Super can reach 26 knots with its standard 2,435mhp MTU 16V 2000 M96 engines, while two 2,638mhp MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines produce a top speed of 28 knots.
