Azimut 78

by Frank Stevenson14 August 2019 in Motoryachts, no comment

FULL SIZE 23.44 (7 7ft Gin) EN 5.75 (18it 10in) MACHINE Three 900hp or 1000hp Volvo Penta MAXIMUM SPEED 30 knots

With its brand new Alberto Mancini design, the first flybridge model using IPS pod machines, Azimut is innovating at the top of the flybridge series.

Influenced by the performance and abrasion of the S series sportscruisers equipped with IPS pods, Azimuth puts the shafts aside to gain more living space and improve the boat. While we’re at it, they’re offering the new 78 with only 900hp or 100hp triple pods on each side. With the IPS 1350s, the maximum speed is estimated to be over 30 knots and the cruising speed is over 20 knots.

Offering performance and a more advanced boat is one of the reasons why pods are crossed, while the other is to provide guests with as much living space and privacy as possible, giving the crew a living space. There are three crew beds at the beginning and the lower rudder section on the deck floor and direct access to the kitchen. Master and guest cabins are accessed by a separate staircase in the hall.

The comfortable head deck 78 is the center of the outside living and hospitality areas.

The Achille Salvagni design with curved lines offers two different places in the interior decoration: lounge and dining room. The second option is a more traditional, fixed dining table for eight people; the first is a more comfortable, open plan and a coffee table in the front, which can be turned into a dining table. Made of hardtop and flybridge carbon fiber in order to keep weight low, displacement is 62 tons. Although the official launch date has not yet been announced, Azimut ‘s flybridge will offer a new interpretation of the boat, possibly exhibiting at the Cannes fair.
