by Italy’s Monte Carlo Yachts has extended its Skylounge Collection to its flagship MCY 105, with the first hull sold to Hong Kong.
Monte Carlo Yachts has unveiled the design of the MCY 105, the third model in its Skylounge Collection following enclosed-flybridge versions of the MCY 70 and MCY 76 released last year. The first MCY 105 Skylounge has been sold to a Hong Kong-based owner and is scheduled to be delivered in the summer of 2022, when initial plans include cruising around the Mediterranean.
The Skylounge edition of the builder’s flagship model has been developed with regular collaborator Nuvolari Lenard following feedback from clients around the globe.

Carlo Nuvolari and Dan Lenard, who have designed each MCY model, developed an enormous enclosed flybridge of over 160sqft for the MCY 105 Skylounge. The upper deck features the sole helm station and a transparent ceiling, but otherwise owners can customise the area.
“The additional volume offered by the enclosed flybridge provides owners with unmatched levels of freedom, allowing them to customise the yacht according to their personal way of experiencing life at sea.” stated the Italian studio, which is among the world’s most renowned megayacht designers.
“It’s surprising to think that the whole area of the main deck or the flybridge can be destined for uses never imagined before, freeing the creativity and fulfilling the owners’ desires in terms of intended use of the space.”
Design ideas include making the flybridge a wide, comfortable saloon ideal for private dining experiences, while the main deck can be transformed into a spectacular beach club, from the spacious aft cockpit to the bow lounge.
Proposed layouts include the master suite forward on the main deck and guest cabins on the lower deck, while key outdoor areas include the flybridge aft terrace and the wide, versatile bow lounge with sun pads and dining tables.
“The Asian owner of this disruptive model chose the Italian shipyard for its capability to meet expectations in terms of customisation and delivery time,” Monte Carlo Yachts stated. The need was to have a yacht that could be enjoyed not only in extreme climates but everywhere, thanks to its numerous spacious exterior areas.”
