The new flagship of Mannerfelt Design Team boots, the Pirelli 50, born from the partnership of Pirelli Design and TecnoRib, was introduced to the European marine press for the first time at a special test drive event held in Genoa, Italy on April 8th.
Italian TecnoRib produced the third walkaround model in three years in collaboration with Pirelli Design. The new flagship of the Milan-based shipyard, Pirelli 50, was presented to the European yachting press for the first time on 8 April in Genoa.

The 15.20 meters long and 4.70 meters wide Pirelli 50, mentioned by CEO Gianni De Bonis as “the destination of the road that confirms the priority of TecnoRib in Italy and other reference countries”, is a place dominated by huge waves. We had the opportunity to see it today.

FAST EVEN WHILE STOP
Of course, the Pirelli 50 has a double-step hull design signed by Swedish racing master Ocke Mannerfelt, which TecnoRib has not given up for a long time. The basic lines of the boat, which provides high stability at high speeds, are signed by his son, Ted Mannerfelt, who is now the head of the Mannerfelt Design Team.
The standard-equipped version of the Pirelli 50, which we also use, was planned in accordance with the motto of the series “seems fast even when stationary”.
There were two 600 hp Mercury Verado outboard motors. With these two 7.60 liter V12 engines guaranteeing a speed of 50 knots under normal conditions, we reached 25 knots in dry conditions in difficult sea conditions.

The smoothness of the ride and the instant response of the engines to the helm were testament to the compatibility of the Pirelli 50 with the 600 hp Mercurys.
Mercury Verado V12, for the first time in an outboard engine, offers a two-speed automatic transmission that provides powerful acceleration in cruising, and for the first time in an outboard engine, the steerable gearbox rotates independently under water, while the engine remains stable and saves from the rear mirror, Pirelli 50, which can also be powered by an inboard engine, It can lift up to 1800 horsepower.
Pirelli 50, a sporty maxi-rib, has the features to undertake daily and medium range uses as well as a superyacht support boat or follower boat.
The double step hull structure of the Pirelli 50 is designed by Swedish racing master Ocke Mannerfelt. The basic lines of the boat are signed by his son, Ted Mannerfelt, who is currently the head of the Mannerfelt Design Team.

SOCIAL DECK LAYOUT
On the Pirelli 50, whose deck goes straight, only the central command post is planned slightly higher, with a level difference for a better view. The area with three shock-absorbing seats is enriched with two large Simrad screens and a joystick. Simrad officials state that they put great effort into what the customer wants for these large display screens. Stating that the shipyard wants to personalize the experience, the
Simrad team also emphasizes that the trend of customization will increase. The clear finishes of the Pirelli 50’s deck are softened by a curved hard-top combined with windscreen. In order not to compromise on the dynamic appearance, handrails that are invisible from the outside but sufficient to make you feel safe at any speed were chosen.

In the aft, despite the large outboards in the middle on behalf of the bathing platform, there are two generous spaces for port and starboard. An extremely large sunbathing mat is placed at the back. Just behind it, there are two opposing benches in the form of benches, and between them are a teak table, the wings of which can be opened from both sides.
One of the seats, thanks to the adjustable backrest, is a whole with the sunbathing cushion. The fully reclinable backrest can also be adjusted as a pillow. After the dining area comes the bar/kitchen. Elegant black unit that utilizes the shade of the hard-top; It includes a sink, two induction hobs, three refrigerators and an ice maker.
Seating and sunbathing areas on the front deck of the social Pirelli 50 with a carrying capacity of 14 people have not been neglected. Part of the control station in the form of a block is the comfortable two-seater sun mattress in front of it. A seat suitable for mutual conversation is positioned on the bow. Of course, in order for the Pirelli 50 to always look neat, a warehouse has also been created under most of the cushions.

NEARLY ALL PRODUCTION IS RESERVED
Combining the sportiness of a maxi-rib with the hospitality of a large yacht, Pirelli 50 can comfortably accommodate four people. When you go down to the lower deck, control panels are hidden inside the cabinets on the pier. In the spacious and minimally compact interior, a separate cabin with a shower and toilet has been placed on the starboard. The ceiling height of Başalun is 2.05 meters. The bed here is designed in sizes that taller people will not have trouble with. There are also two single beds behind the stairs.
Pirelli 50 supports Milan-based TecnoRib’s project to create a complete range of excursions suitable for sailors of different ages and nationalities looking for a modern high-performance boat. Following the Pirelli 42, the first member of the Walkaround tour series launched in early 2020, and the Pirelli 35 born of its success, the Pirelli 50 will have its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September. As the 50, which can act as a superyacht support boat or follower boat as well as for daily and medium-range uses, garnered attention even before its premiere, TecnoRib has reserved all of this year’s production and part of it next year.
