Sanlorenzo SL106A

by Frank Stevenson23 June 2022 in Motoryachts, no comment

The SL 106A succeeds the pioneering SL 102A in the Asymmetric series.

Sanlorenzo has shared details of the new SL106A, which is an evolution of the SL 102A model that launched the Italian builder’s Asymmetric series of designs in 2018. The SL102A was followed by the SL96A that debuted at Boot Dusseldorf in January 2020 then the SL90A and SL120A that premiered at last year’s Cannes Yachting Festival in September.

In late October, the SL 106A was unveiled at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, while this February the model was also on display at the Miami International Boat Show, also in Florida.

Like the other Asymmetric models, the SL106A features exterior design by Zuccon International Project, the Italian studio also responsible for the interior. Compared to the SL102A, the external lines have evolved and the SL106A features the introduction of oneway glass that merges with the hull.

The design maintains the characteristics seen on the SL96A and SL90A, with the main deck featuring only one side passageway on the starboard side, as well as a folding terrace, which expands the saloon’s connection to the sea and outdoors. The model has a widebody design on the port side, where the saloon has a dining area by a full-height window overlooking the sea.

The bow area offers a 215sqft space with integrated sun loungers and a convertible dinette, and can be reached through a dedicated access from the 320sqft owner’s cabin. The foredeck is connected to the fully customised flybridge by portside stairs.

The layout of the lower deck has been enhanced, with increased surface area in the four guest cabins and the engine room. The lower deck also includes a 130sqft sunbathing platform, while the aft garage can house a tender and a jet-ski.

Bernardo Zuccon of Zuccon International Project said: “The SL106A extends the Asymmetric range and is another confirmation of its credibility, not only from the viewpoint of design but also of commercial success. It shows how research into new lifestyle concepts can have a positive influence on the market.”

All Asymmetric models are part of the SL line of planing yachts by Sanlorenzo, the Italian builder represented in Asia by Simpson Marine as Sanlorenzo Asia.
