Sanlorenzo to debut SL120Asymmetric and SD118 at Cannes Yachting Festival.
Sanlorenzo is scheduled to debut the SL120Asymmetric at the Cannes Yachting Festival (September 7-12), where it also plans to premiere the SD118, the first model in its semi displacement line to feature asymmetric design, albeit only on the upper deck.
Bernardo Zuccon of Zuccon International Project designed the exterior and interior of the SL120A, which has a length of 36.9m (121ft) and a beam of 7.6m (25ft). The asymmetry features on the aft part of the main deck, where a half-length starboard side deck runs from the cockpit to midships. There’s no side deck to port, which increases the internal living area by 8sqm.
The saloon features a dining table placed lengthways to port, where there’s full-height glazing. To starboard is the lounge and side doors that open to the side deck and a fold-down balcony. The side deck leads to stairs up to the flybridge, where a C-shaped sofa and sunpads sit forward of the deckhouse and stairs head down to the foredeck, which has a similar sofa-and-sunpad arrangement.
The foredeck also has direct access from the main-deck owner’s suite, which occupies the full width of the hull. The main part of the flybridge features a wet bar and dining table midships for outdoor dining, while the aft area is clear for sun loungers and other loose furniture.
On the lower deck, the aft garage can be transformed into a 15sqm beach club due to folding terraces. The deck also includes four double guest cabins and crew accommodation for five.
The SL120A, which has a top speed of 27 knots, will become the new flagship of Sanlorenzo’s planing line and join the SL78, SL 86, SL96A and SL102A. The latter was the first Asymmetric model from Sanlorenzo and premiered at Cannes in 2018, with a unit arriving in Singapore the following year. The SL96A made its world debut at Boot Dusseldorf in January 2020.
Meanwhile, Sanlorenzo has sold at least five units of the upcoming SDI 18 from the semi-displacement line, which also includes the SD96 and SD126. The asymmetry on the SD118 is on the upper deck, where Bernardo Zuccon has included a side deck on the port sideincluding an opening terrace – but not on the starboard side, which is like a wide-body hull.
Other features on the 35.75m model with a 7.9m beam include the bow, where the outdoor areas on the upper and main decks are connected by a central stairway, which covers private access from the owner’s suite.
The SD118 also has a revised stern zone, which can be transformed into a 19sqm beach club due to large lateral hatches that open and can be set up for diving and sunbathing. The model features interior design options by Bernardo and Martina Zuccon, as well as Spanish architect Patricia Urquiola, and will have a top speed of 18 or 19 knots depending on the engine option.
